Welcome to Eating Right at Home. I am a Stay at Home Mom with a wonderful husband and three adorable and brilliant children. I have always loved cooking for my family, but in the beginning, because I didn't know any better, we ate out or ate "convenience" meals regularly. We thought that we just didn't have time for cooking many meals "from scratch." I wanted to cook more meals from scratch, I just didn't understand the health risks of eating out and eating prepackaged meals from the freezer section of my local grocery store. Even then, there were a few meals that I wouldn't cut corners on. As the years have gone by, we have learned more and more about what eating healthy looks like. As it turns out, it doesn't look much like the Food Pyramid that I learned about in school - and it looks nothing like the portions and variety of food served in most restaurants.

Now, we reserve eating out to a very few restaurants and special occasions. We are learning to incorporate more fruits and veggies in our daily diets - 5 servings a day is ideal. We cook with 100% Grass Fed Beef for the nutritional benefits. We eat Organic because it is better for our bodies and for the environment.

I respect everyone's own choice about the food they cook for their families. Everyone has a right to do what the feel is best for them. Do your own research and make your own choices.
